There ain't nothing but blue sky

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here's the rainbow I've been praying for
It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshinin' day
It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshinin' day
Real, real, real, real bright, bright sunshinin' day
Yeah, hey, it's gonna be a bright, bright sunshinin' day

It's finally sunny and warm again in NOLA!!! This is a VERY exciting development as it has been particularly cold here in the Cresent City for the past two weeks. And yes, I mean actually cold, as in, temperatures in the 30's. LOW 30's. It was freezing. Particularly when it is generally warm and about 55-65 this time of year. And particularly when because of the high average temperature, many of the apartments in the city don't have heat. And yes, ours is one of those lucky residences. As I said, it's been cold. Luckily we have amazing friends who shared blankets and a space heater with us-so wonderful to be warm again!!!!

As the song says, its gonna be a bright, bright, bright sunshinin' day!

Inauguration

What a day January 20th, 2009 was. One for the books to be sure. I must say, watching the inauguration yesterday gave me chills and I teared up as President Obama took the oath of office, becoming the 44th president of these amazing United States. It was truly an amazing day. Regardless of your opinion of the politics of the day, I think everyone can agree that this man and his family have brought an excitment, an interest, and a new sense of vitality to the office and country. And those two little girls have definitely taken the country by storm-they are going to be heartbreakers for sure!
